What did CBP announce?

CBP announced three webinars held on January 13, 14, and 15, 2026 to train users on the new Forced Labor Portal. The portal handles submission of Withhold Release Order and Finding admissibility reviews, UFLPA applicability and exception requests, and CAATSA exception requests. CBP stated that after the portal launched, importers must use it to request review of shipments detained or excluded for forced labor enforcement.

This message announced past training webinars and is now historical. If a client has shipments detained or excluded for forced labor enforcement, we recommend confirming current portal procedures directly with CBP or asking us to review the specific entry. What does the CBP message say?

In preparation for the launch of the Forced Labor Portal in January 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will conduct three webinars to train users on the new Portal’s functionalities for the submission of the following types of review requests:

Withhold Release Order/Finding admissibility reviews;

Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act applicability reviews;

Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act requests for exception; and

Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act exception requests.

Following the deployment of the Forced Labor Portal, shipments detained or excluded for forced labor enforcement that importers wish to have reviewed by the applicable port of entry or Center of Excellence and Expertise must be submitted through this Portal.
