What did CBP announce?
CBP's National Commodity Specialist Division announced a series of commodity-specific educational webinars running March through September 2026, focused on classification guidance and emerging trade technology. The message listed the March and April sessions, held via WebEx, and noted that any webinars during a DHS funding lapse would need rescheduling. This was an informational and registration notice, not a rule change.

What does the CBP message say?
The National Commodity Specialist Division, Office of Trade, is excited to present the next round of approximately 30+ commodity-specific, educational webinars to support our internal and external stakeholders. This year, we intend to focus our webinars on the FUTURE OF TRADE: INNOVATION AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGY --dedicated to rapidly changing technology in addition to providing general classification guidance to facilitate legitimate trade. Beginning March through September 2026, the webinars will commence at 1:30pm Eastern time for approximately one hour, except for Sept 3rd, scheduled at 11:30am Eastern. We are now registering attendees for the webinar series scheduled to take place during March and April and will proceed with monthly registrations for the remaining webinars through September. We will be using the WebEx Platform, which will provide a seamless experience for you and ensure external posting of the webinars to https://www.cbp.gov/trade/stakeholder-engagement/webinars, thus each webinar will have its own link to sign in. If the current lapse in DHS funding continues, the below webinar(s) scheduled to take place during the lapse will need to be rescheduled once DHS is funded and there is a return to normal operations.
