What did CBP announce?
CBP announced that the Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) Appendix U list was updated to include three HTS codes for used vehicles: 8705.90.0010, 8705.90.0020 and 8705.90.0080. The change affected reporting requirements for used vehicle exports under the EEM program. CBP directed technical questions to client representatives and policy questions to a CBP vehicle exports mailbox.
What is Allied's position?
This notice concerned export manifest reporting for used vehicles, not the import entries we file for clients. It does not change any customs entry, classification or duty process we handle. Clients who export used vehicles under these HTS codes should confirm current EEM reporting requirements, since later CBP messages may have updated this list further.

Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) will be implementing an update to the Appendix U list to allow the following HTS Codes for Used Vehicles:
- 8705.90.0010
- 8705.90.0020
- 8705.90.0080
