What did CBP announce?
CBP's National Commodity Specialist Division announced a series of educational webinars on commodity classification topics through September 2026. The webinars cover subjects such as trailers, edible preparations, surfactants and signaling devices. Registration and links are available on the CBP website, with sessions running through September 30, 2026.
What is Allied's position?
These webinars are informational sessions offered by CBP and do not change any entry filing requirements. Clients do not need to act, but importers with questions about classification of goods discussed in these sessions can ask us to review their entries.

What does the CBP message say?
The National Commodity Specialist Division (NCSD), Office of Trade, is excited to present the next round of approximately 30 commodity-specific, educational webinars to support our internal and external stakeholders. This year, we intend to focus our webinars on the FUTURE OF TRADE: INNOVATION AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGY, focusing on rapidly changing technology, in addition to providing general classification guidance to facilitate legitimate trade.
From May through September 2026, the webinars will commence at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time (ET) for approximately one hour, except for September 22, 24, and 25, which are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. ET.
We are now registering attendees for the webinars scheduled to take place during September. We will be using the WebEx Platform, which will provide a seamless experience for you and ensure external posting of the webinars to https://www.cbp.gov/trade/stakeholder-engagement/webinars. Each webinar will have its own link to sign in.
