What does the CBP message say?
CBP is reminding licensed custom brokers of two important deadlines, both of which are required to maintain the broker’s license:
- January 31, 2027 – All individually licensed brokers must complete their customs broker Continuing Education (CE) requirements. CE for this Triennial Status Reporting (TSR) period cannot be completed after January 31, 2027. - February 28, 2027 – Individually licensed brokers must report the completion of their CE on the TSR. ALL licensed brokers, both those with individual licenses who must complete the CE requirement and those with corporate licenses, must submit the TSR by February 28, 2027.
Licensed brokers are required to file a TSR through the eCBP Portal, which will be open for TSR filing between December 14, 2026, and February 28, 2027.
For information on CE and TSR requirements, visit CBP’s CE and TSR webpage: https://www.cbp.gov/trade/programs-administration/customs-brokers/customs-broker-triennial-status-report-tsr-and-continuing-education-ce-requirements
Compliance is mandatory. Under 19 CFR 111.30(d) and 19 CFR 111.102, brokers that fail to meet applicable CE and TSR requirements by the regulatory deadline will have their licenses revoked by operation of law.
