What did CBP announce?
CBP announced Quota Bulletin 26-208 for cheddar cheese and cheese substitute under HTSUS Chapter 4, Additional US Note 18. The quota period ran January 1 through December 31, 2026, opening Friday, January 2, 2026. Entries filed near the opening received an 8:30 am ET entry time and were prorated if the group limit was exceeded.
What is Allied's position?
This bulletin was routine and applied only to entries of cheddar cheese and cheese substitute filed near the January 2, 2026 opening. It no longer affects current filings. Clients importing this commodity now should ask us to confirm current quota status for their entries.

All entries submitted after 12:01 am local port time and prior to 08:30 am Eastern Time (ET) and on the opening date will receive an entry time of 08:30 am for quota qualification purposes. If the total for any HTSUS group exceeds the limit at 08:30 am ET, all accepted entries will be prorated.
