CBP added duty checks in ACE for entries with up to 32 HTS codes per line

CBP title: ACE Duty Calculations for up to 32 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Codes Set to Deploy February 17, 2026

This message is from February 13, 2026. Later CSMS messages may have changed it. See the latest trade news

What did CBP announce?

CBP announced that on February 17, 2026 it deployed an ACE enhancement that validates filer-provided duty amounts on entry summary lines listing up to 32 HTS codes. When a filer's duty amount does not match CBP's calculation, ACE returns condition code 624 for a line mismatch or 627 for a total mismatch. The message directed technical questions to CBP client representatives and other questions to CBP's ESAR email address.

What is Allied's position?

This is a system level change to how CBP validates entry summary duty amounts, and it concerns the filing process rather than importer action. We account for these mismatch codes when we prepare and transmit entry summaries with multiple HTS codes per line. Clients do not need to do anything because of this message, but if a specific entry shows a duty discrepancy, clients should ask us to review it.

What does the CBP message say?

On February 17, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will deploy the ACE Duty Calculation for up to 32 HTS Codes (CBP-127) enhancement to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) in response to requests from the trade community.

Following the deployment, ACE will validate filer-provided duty amounts on entry summary lines that have up to 32 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes. When the provided duty value is incorrect, filers will see the following condition codes:

  • 624 – EST DUTY/CALC’D DUTY MISMATCH - LINE
