What did CBP announce?
CBP announced that the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) released version 2.7 (January 14, 2026) of its draft implementation guide, replacing the January 5, 2026 version. The update reflected clarification language based on trade community feedback. It was posted in the Draft Chapters: Future Capabilities section of CBP.gov, and questions could be directed to DEA.
What is Allied's position?
This message described a draft guide for a DEA capability that was not yet in production, so it did not change how we file entries at the time. Later CSMS messages may have updated or finalized this guide, so clients with DEA-regulated goods should ask us about the current requirements for their entries.
