What did CBP announce?
CBP announced an updated ACE Agency Tariff Code Reference Guide on March 23, 2026. The update revised the description for DEA flag DE1 and added new flag DE3. It also added two new CPSC flags, CP1 and CP2, to the guide.
What is Allied's position?
This update concerns the technical reference codes brokers use when filing entries that involve DEA or CPSC data in ACE. It does not change any duty, tariff, or entry requirement for importers. Clients do not need to act, and we apply the updated codes in the filings we prepare.

What does the CBP message say?
An updated version of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Agency Tariff Code Reference guide is now available: ACE Agency Tariff Code Reference Guide (https://www.cbp.gov/document/guidance/agency-tariff-code-agency-program-cross-reference).
Changes made to the flags include:
• For the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)
- Updated description for DE1
- Added DE3
• For the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
- Added CP1 and CP2
