What did CBP announce?
CBP announced Harmonized System Update (HSU) 2616 on July 21, 2026, containing 20 tariff records and 80 ABI records. The update changed the FDA tariff flag on HTS 2941.50.0000 from FD2 to FD1 and added Section 301 Brazil HTS updates. The Section 301 Brazil changes took effect July 22, 2026.
What is Allied's position?
We applied the HSU 2616 changes, including the FDA flag update and the Section 301 Brazil HTS updates, to entries filed on or after their effective dates. If clients import erythromycin products under HTS 2941.50.0000 or goods affected by the Section 301 Brazil action, they should ask us to review how these changes apply to their entries.

What does the CBP message say?
Harmonized System Update (HSU) 2616 was created on July 21, 2026, and contains 20 harmonized tariff records and 80 Automated Broker Interface (ABI) records.
HSU 2616 contains the PGA HTS flagging and Section 301 Brazil HTS updates. For the PGA HTS flagging, the FDA tariff flag FD2 was changed to FD1 for HTS 2941.50.0000 (ERYTHROMYCIN AND ITS DERIVATIVES; SALTS THEREOF).
