Was hat CBP angekündigt?
CBP kündigte das Kontingent-Bulletin 26-212 für Thunfisch und Skipjack (Bonito) in luftdichten Behältern von nicht mehr als 7 kg für 2026 an, das den Kontingentzeitraum vom 1. Januar bis 31. Dezember 2026 abdeckt. Das Kontingent öffnete am Freitag, dem 2. Januar 2026, um 12:00 Uhr Ostküstenzeit, und CBP rechnete mit einer Überzeichnung, weshalb Importeure die Verfahren zum Öffnungszeitpunkt gemäß 19 CFR 132.12 einhalten mussten. Zusammenfassende Anmeldungen (Entry Summaries) konnten am Öffnungstag nur zwischen 00:01 Uhr Ortszeit des Hafens und 12:00 Uhr Ostküstenzeit in ACE übermittelt werden.
Wie schätzt Allied die Mitteilung ein?
Dieses Bulletin legte die Öffnungsverfahren für das Thunfisch-Kontingent 2026 fest, und der Öffnungstermin, der 2. Januar 2026, ist bereits vergangen. Der Kontingentzeitraum selbst läuft bis zum 31. Dezember 2026, sodass die betreffende Kontingentkategorie noch aktiv sein kann, das hier beschriebene spezifische Zeitfenster für die Anmeldung zum Öffnungszeitpunkt gilt jedoch nicht mehr. Kunden mit Thunfisch-Einfuhren in diesem Jahr sollten uns bitten, den aktuellen Kontingentstatus und die Bearbeitung ihrer Anmeldungen zu bestätigen.

Tuna and Skipjack, in airtight containers, not in oil, in containers, weighing with their contents not over 7 kg each as provided in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), Chapter 16 subheadings.
Quota Period:
January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026
Opening Date:
Friday, January 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM noon Eastern Time (ET)
Opening moment procedures will be in effect.
In order to ensure that all timely importers are afforded a portion of the tuna quota at the in-quota (low) rate of duty in the event that the total quantity presented at opening exceeds the final quota limit, importers will be required to follow the opening moment procedures provided for in 19 CFR 132.12 (quotas are expected to oversubscribe at opening).
The Trade may transmit the quota entry summaries in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) on January 2, 2026, from 12:01 AM (midnight) local port time until 12:00 PM (noon) ET only. Entry summaries reported early or late (before 12 Midnight local port time or after 12 noon ET), will not be processed for the opening; however, early transmissions may be retransmitted within the proper range of time.
Please note: For remote filers, the port of entry dictates the time and date of presentation for quota purposes.
