Filer Code
A filer code is the three-character code that CBP assigns to a customs broker or a self-filing importer. Every entry number of that filer starts with it.
What does Filer Code mean?
The entry number has 11 characters: the three-character filer code, a seven-digit entry number and one check digit. The check digit is computed from the first 10 characters.
CBP assigns the filer code to the filer or the importer. An ABI applicant states its entry filer code in its letter of intent to CBP (19 CFR 143.2).
The filer code shows which filer made an entry. For example, Allied CHB Inc. files under filer code 9AJ, so its entry numbers start with 9AJ.
What does it mean for your shipment?
Our filer code is 9AJ. If an entry number on a CBP notice starts with 9AJ, we filed that entry, and you can send the notice to us.
