What did CBP announce?
CBP announced an update to the Electronic Export Manifest Ocean X12-350 Implementation Guide. The update changed the M7A02 Seal Number field in the Seal Number Replacement segment from mandatory to optional. CBP said the change was live in production as of the message date.
What is Allied's position?
This change concerns ocean carriers that file electronic export manifests with CBP, not the import entries Allied files. It does not affect entries, ISF filings or duty refund claims that Allied handles for clients. Clients do not need to take any action because of this notice.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has updated the Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) (https://www.cbp.gov/trade/automated/how-to-use-ace/export-manifest) ACE Exports Ocean X12- 350 Customs Status Information Implementation Guide.
Change:
- The requirement for M7A02 (Seal Number) in the M7 Segment – Seal Number Replacement has been changed from Mandatory to Optional. The change is now available in PROD.
