What did CBP announce?
CBP updated the ACE Ocean CAMIR Export Manifest Implementation Guide. The update clarifies that if a vessel has no name, filers must enter a vessel ID of VESSEL in the Vessel Name data element. CBP directs technical questions to Client Representatives and policy questions to its export manifest email address.
What is Allied's position?
This update concerns export manifest filing for ocean carriers and applies to filers who transmit vessel data in ACE. It does not change the entries Allied files for importers. Clients do not need to act.

Updates implemented:
- Updated description in Segment M01, Data Element Vessel Name – to include note “If there is no Vessel name, a vessel ID of “VESSEL” is required.”
