What did CBP announce?
CBP announced an updated ACE CATAIR Appendix PGA in the Draft Chapters section of CBP.gov. The update added AGAR and EXAR to the PG10 Commodity Characteristic Qualifiers list for USDA APHIS. It also updated the name and definition for code 406 in the PG10 Category Codes section.
What is Allied's position?
This update concerns the technical ABI data specifications that brokers use to file entries with USDA APHIS data. It does not require any action from importers or shippers. Clients with questions about how this affects specific APHIS filings should ask us to review their entries.

An updated version of the ACE CATAIR Appendix PGA is now available in the Draft Chapters, Future Capabilities section of CBP.gov: https://www.cbp.gov/trade/automated/catair
For U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), AGAR and EXAR were added to the PG10 Commodity Characteristic Qualifiers list. The name and definition for “406” were also updated in the PG10 Category Codes section. Please see the change log for details.
