CBP fixes ACE glitch that sent some daily statements in error on October 28 and 29

CBP title: ACE Statement Issue

What did CBP announce?

CBP says some trade participants received ACE statements in error on October 28 and 29, and it has addressed the issue in ACE. Filers should ignore statements dated July 29 or July 30, and ACE will reject any attempt to authorize them. Some entry summaries submitted October 23, 27 or 28 produced two statements or early statements. CBP tells filers to use the ACE REV-104 Daily Statement Entry Summary List report to confirm valid statement numbers.

What is Allied's position?

This issue concerns the statements and payment authorizations that filers handle in ACE. For the entries we file, we check statement numbers against the REV-104 report before payment and reschedule entry summaries where CBP allows it. Clients do not need to act. If you received a statement dated July 29 or July 30, or an unexpected statement, ignore it and ask us to confirm your statement date.

What does the CBP message say?

On October 28th and October 29th, certain trade participants may have received statements in error. CBP has addressed this issue in ACE. The following guidance is being sent to assist the affected trade participants.

  • If filers have recently received statements for July 29th or July 30th, these should be ignored.
  • If filers attempt to authorize the statement generated erroneously, it will be rejected.
  • For some entry summaries that were submitted to CBP on October 23rd, 27th, or 28th with a scheduled statement print date [JR1.1]on or before October 30th, filers may have received two statements. In this instance, they can either reschedule the entry summary to a different statement date or use ACE Reports, specifically the REV-104 Daily Statement Entry Summary List report, to identify the correct statement number.
  • For some entry summaries that were submitted to CBP on October 23rd, 27th, or 28th but are scheduled for a future date, filers may have received statements prior to the scheduled print date. Filers should ignore these statements. The correct statement will automatically be sent on the appropriate scheduled statement date. Filers are encouraged to confirm their scheduled statement print date.
  • Additionally, if filers receive errors submitting a payment authorization (via RM EDI) or think they received a statement in error, they should use the REV-104 report referenced above to confirm that the statement number is valid.
