CBP orders detention of palm oil from two Indonesian plantations over forced labor

CBP issued two Withhold Release Orders against palm oil and its derivative products produced by Mitra Aneka Rezeki and Hardaya Inti Plantation in Indonesia. Effective immediately, CBP will detain these shipments at all U.S. ports of entry under 19 U.S.C. § 1307. Importers of detained shipments may destroy or export them, or show that the goods were not made with forced labor.

    Show Allied's position

We treat any shipment of palm oil or palm oil derivatives from these two producers as subject to detention on the entries we file. Clients who import palm oil or products containing it should check their supply chains for these producers. Clients should send us supplier and origin documents early so we can review their entries. If CBP detains a shipment, contact us to discuss the options the message lists.

CBP issued forced labor detention orders on Jordan garment makers Needle Craft and Casual Wear

CBP announced it issued two Withhold Release Orders (WROs) on June 23, 2026 against garments made by Needle Craft Ltd. and Casual Wear Apparel L.L.C. in Jordan, based on evidence of forced labor. CBP said ports would detain shipments of these garments immediately. Importers of detained shipments could seek to destroy or export the goods, or try to show the merchandise was not made with forced labor.

    Show Allied's position

This message concerns importers who bring in garments from these two named Jordanian factories. We flag entries tied to Needle Craft Ltd. or Casual Wear Apparel L.L.C. for possible detention at the port and ask affected clients to send us any documentation on production sources. The message does not state an end date for these WROs, so clients with shipments from these factories should contact us before filing to confirm current status.

CBP issued forced labor detention order on Serbia Zijin copper products

CBP announced a Withhold Release Order against copper and copper products made in Serbia by Serbia Zijin Copper D.O.O. CBP said the order took effect immediately and directed ports to detain these shipments based on evidence of forced labor. CBP stated importers could destroy, export, or attempt to prove the goods were not made with forced labor. This was CBP's fourth such order in the fiscal year, bringing its total to 56 WROs and eight Findings.

    Show Allied's position

This WRO applied to entries of copper and copper products sourced from Serbia Zijin Copper D.O.O. and remains a basis for CBP to detain such shipments unless it has been withdrawn, which this message does not address. Clients who import copper or copper products from this manufacturer should ask us to review their entries and supply chain documentation. We can help prepare evidence of origin and production conditions if CBP detains a shipment, but we cannot predict whether CBP will release it.

CBP Ordered Detention of Coffee From Finca Monte Grande Over Forced Labor

CBP announced on January 29, 2026 that it issued a Withhold Release Order against coffee harvested by Finca Monte Grande in Mexico. The order directed CBP officers at all U.S. ports of entry to detain coffee shipments from that producer based on evidence of forced labor and forced child labor. Importers of detained shipments could seek to export or destroy the goods, or try to show the coffee was not made with forced labor.

    Show Allied's position

At the time, this WRO meant we had to expect detention of any coffee entries tied to Finca Monte Grande and to help clients respond to CBP detention notices. Withhold Release Orders generally remain in effect until CBP rescinds them, so this restriction may still apply today. Clients who import coffee from Mexico should ask us to check whether a specific shipment or supplier is covered by this or a later CBP forced labor action.

CBP detained Serbian-made Linglong tires over forced labor evidence

CBP announced a Withhold Release Order against automobile tires manufactured in Serbia by Linglong International Europe D.O.O. Zrenjanin, citing evidence of forced labor under 19 U.S.C. 1307. The order took effect immediately in December 2025, directing CBP officers at all U.S. ports to detain shipments of these tires. Importers of detained shipments could seek to destroy or export the goods, or try to show the merchandise was not made with forced labor.

    Show Allied's position

This WRO affects any entries Allied files that include automobile tires from this Serbian manufacturer. We have no information showing this order has been lifted or replaced, so clients with shipments from this producer should ask Allied to review their entries before filing. If a shipment is detained, clients need to decide with Allied whether to pursue destruction, export, or evidence showing no forced labor was involved.
