What did CBP announce?
CBP announced an update to ACE CATAIR Appendix B (import) and AESTIR Appendix C (export) that removed Burma (BU) as a valid country code. Myanmar (MM) remains a valid country code. The change affects manifest filers who reference country codes for shipments involving that country.
What is Allied's position?
We noted this update to the country code tables used in import and export manifest filings. The message does not give an effective date, so later CSMS notices may have adjusted the rollout. Clients whose shipments reference Burma or Myanmar should ask us to confirm which code applies to their current entries.
