AES country code list updated for Nauru's new name, Republic of Naoero
CBP announced that the Government of Nauru passed a constitutional amendment renaming the Republic of Nauru to the Republic of Naoero. The Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) will update Appendix C, the ISO country code list, to reflect the change. The updated documentation is on the ACE AESTIR Appendix C page of the CBP AES webpage.

This update concerns export filings in the Automated Export System and does not change the import entries we file. The message only announces a name change in the code list. Exporters who file AES data should check that their software reflects the updated Appendix C. Importers do not need to act.
CBP made AES export license tolerance error a fatal rejection code
CBP announced that effective September 25, 2026, AESTIR Commodity Filing Response Code 802 changed from Verify to Fatal. Export filings (EEI) that exceed the BIS license shipping tolerance are now rejected until the filer corrects the license data. The change was made at the request of the Bureau of Industry and Security.
Show Allied's positionHide Allied's position
This notice concerns Automated Export System (AES) filings tied to Bureau of Industry and Security export licenses, not the import entries we file for clients. If a client also files export declarations under a BIS license, they should check their license data for keying errors to avoid rejected filings. Import clients do not need to take any action on this notice.
CBP updates list of HTS codes barred from AES export reporting
CBP announced updates to Appendix V of the AESTIR, which lists HTS numbers that cannot be reported in the Automated Export System. One HTS number was removed from the list and 43 HTS numbers were added, at the request of the U.S. Census Bureau. The updated list is posted on CBP.gov.
Show Allied's positionHide Allied's position
This message concerns exporters and filers who report HTS numbers in AES, not the import entries we file. Clients who export goods under any of the listed HTS numbers should check the updated Appendix V and confirm how their AES filer reports those numbers. This notice does not require any action on entries we handle for clients.
CBP added forklift HTS code to used vehicle export reporting list
CBP announced an update to AESTIR Appendix U, the list of HTS/Schedule B codes requiring used vehicle reporting in the Automated Export System. CBP added HTS code 8427.10.8020, covering self-propelled forklift equipment, to that list. The update applied to exporters filing AES records for used vehicles.
Show Allied's positionHide Allied's position
This notice concerns exporters who file Automated Export System records, not the customs entries Allied files for imports. Clients who export used self-propelled forklifts under HTS 8427.10.8020 should confirm with their AES filer that this code is reported correctly. We have not seen a later CSMS message changing this list, but clients should check the current AESTIR Appendix U on CBP.gov for the latest version.
CBP corrected AES vehicle export HTS codes requiring reporting
CBP announced a correction to CSMS 68273771, updating the AESTIR Appendix U list to add three HTS codes for used vehicles: 8705.90.0010, 8705.90.0020, and 8705.90.0080. These classifications now require reporting through the Automated Export System when used vehicles under those codes are exported. The correction was published April 15, 2026.
Show Allied's positionHide Allied's position
This notice concerns export reporting under the Automated Export System, not the import entries we file for clients. It sets which HTS codes for used vehicles must be reported in AES filings. Clients who export used vehicles under these classifications should confirm compliance with their AES filer, and later CSMS messages may have changed this list, so ask us to check current requirements for specific shipments.
CBP added new ITAR export exemption code to AES filing guide
CBP announced an update to AESTIR Appendix O adding ITAR Exemption Code 126.9U, covering temporary export, reexport, or temporary import of certain vessels listed in USML Category XX(a)(10). The update aligns the Automated Export System interface with a State Department ITAR change published in the Federal Register in August 2025. It applies to exporters and filers who report these vessel movements through AES.
Show Allied's positionHide Allied's position
This update concerns Automated Export System filings for vessel exports under a specific ITAR exemption, not the import entries Allied files. We do not file AES export declarations for clients, so this does not change how we process customs entries. Clients who export vessels under USML Category XX(a)(10) should confirm the correct AES exemption code with their export compliance team or AES filer.
The summaries and positions are general information, not legal advice. Always check the official CBP message, which each page links to.
